Almonds: Healthy Headache Remedy

Migraines and headaches can be such a struggle to deal with, especially for those that are easily triggered resulting in the pain on a daily basis. Over the counter aspirin can take a toll on the body after a lot of consumption which is why its important to look for other, natural methods of relieving the pain. Almonds have often been connected with easing the pain of a headache or migraine. Keep in mind it doesn’t work like an aspirin where you will feel instant relief but its definitely something to consider incorporating in your diet for a long term positive effect.

Its recommended to consume 10-12 almonds a day.

How does it work as a remedy? :

  • Magnesium- many people who suffer from migraines have been found to have low levels of magnesium, almonds are packed with the essential nutrient and also help relax muscles.
  • Salicin- an ingredient contained in almonds as well as many over the counter aspirins. It works as an anti-inflammatory
  • Vitamins- almonds contain Vitamin E and B2 which being consumed everyday can have a positive effect on the body over time.
