Chlorine is found in all Canadian tap water at 100%. In fact they add it to our water to prevent disease causing microbes but aside from what they say, it’s not good for you. Adding chlorine to water began in the 1800’s and by 1904 it was the standard use for water treatment. It became the standard because it was the least expensive mechanism.
How are we exposed to chlorine?
– Absorption through are and exposure to water
– Drinking and eating
– Breathing in the fumes
-The risk of developing cancer is 93% higher in people who drink chlorinated water.
-Chorine is known to irritate the eyes. You can recall this if you have ever swam in a public pool. Chorine is also known to irritate tissues and mucous membranes of the nose. Allergies and asthma are easily irritated and symptoms can be exacerbating.
-2/3’s of our harmful exposure to chlorine is due to inhalation of steam and skin absorption which occurs while showering. A warm shower opens up our pours and allows for accelerated absorption.
– Chlorine in shower water also has a very negative cosmetic effect, robbing our skin and hair of moisture and elasticity, resulting in a less vibrant and youthful appearance
How to prevent exposure?
– Get a water filter for your drinking water as well as your shower. Ensure it is high quality as you want to be sure your water is getting filtered.
– Store your filtered water in glass and get it sun charged J
I love water, but I don’t love drinking toxins. One love #soulfamily.
