Recipe Share: Chickpea Fritters

Credit of this recipe was learned from The Good Vibrations Book and creator Lisa B. This  written post is just to share some light on a delicious vegan meal and how to go about making it.

She has a tutorial on her Youtube Channel about making this recipe.

Remember you can always adapt and adjust the recipe to how you like it. I had to adjust a few things and substitute others because I didnt have all of the ingredients.  For example I didnt have onion powder but I had garlic powder and I didnt have cremini mushrooms or yellow pepper so I used green peppers, didnt have red onion, had to use white onion. I also didnt have all of the herbs so I went with what I had. Make this to how you like it. I decided to put these fritters into a sandwhich.

You’ll need:

  • 1 cup chickpea flour
  • 1 cup spring water
  • Grapeseed oil

Herbs

  • oregano
  • cayenne pepper
  • sea salt
  • onion powder
  • basil

Vegetables

  • red peppers
  • red onions
  • kale
  • crimini mushrooms

What to do:

Mix the flour and the water together. It should be like pancake consistency

Add the herbs into the batter. Then mix it all together.

Start to add your vegetables, put all of them in your bowl.

Start to fold the batter over the vegetables. B(ring batter from the bottom on the bowl the cover the vegetables and repeat)

Once everything is evenly mixed together its ready to go.

Place greedspeed oil in a pan and bring to enough temperature where it can fry the batter.

Scoop the batter into the oil (imagine how you want your chickpea patty to be)

Turn over occasionally to book both sides

Place each patty on a plate covered with paper towel (to absorb the excess oil)

Repeat until the batter is finished

She also has an awesome avocado dressing that goes perfectly on top or works as a dipping sauce.

You’ll need:

  • 2.5 avocados
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tbsp olive oil

Mash the avocado in a bowl and add the other ingredients. Mix all together.
