We have been frightened into avoiding using oils on our skin in fear of getting pimples and other not so fun marks. Let’s bust this myth together about the dark secrets of natural oils.
There are oils that are good for your diet, keep your skin moisturized, smooth, glowing, clean, clear and even help fight breakouts. The following is a list of oils that are great for our skin.
Argon Oil “Liquid Gold”
Argon oil is extracted from the kernels found in fruit of Moroccan argon trees. It contains high levels of vitamin E, omega – 3 fatty acids and antioxidants. Argon oil is best for fine lines, dry skin, and dry hair. It absorbs easily and is non-greasy and non-irritating making it a natural moisturizer.
Jojoba oil is technically a wax with an oil structure very similar to our skins natural oil known as sebum. Jojoba oil helps balance ooil production and is great for dry, flaky skin. Jojoba oil is filled with zinc, copper, and vitamins B and E which help to strengthen the skin.
This oil is extracts from avocados and can be used on dry, sensitive, or irritated skin. Avocado oil enhances the collagen in the skin naturally which shields the skin against age-related wrinkles, fine lines, and other gaining signs. In addition you can moisturize your skin, enhance scalp health, and treat skin diseases like eczema and psoriasis.
This “Great for literally everything “ oil is amazing for your skin. You may use it on any type of skin but can be especially helpful for sensitive skin, eczema, and dry hair. Coconut oil moisturizes the skin leaving it smooth with a naturally beautiful glow. It can be used to treat cold sores, diaper rashes, and even to help remove stretch marks. If you had to choose one, then this oil has got to be in your cabinet.
Flaxseeds are amazing and can be used for a number of natural remedies. It is best for irritated, sensitive skin and for conditions such as eczema and dermatitis. You can use flaxseeds to create homemade natural hair gel, as an alternative to eggs, and can help maintain a healthy heart and complexion. Flaxseeds are filled with omega-3 and omega -6 fatty acids and can be used as a topical moisturizer or you can mix the seeds in your food. Flaxseeds have anti-inflammatory properties and can improve skin condition like eczema.
Olive Oil (My Fav)
Olive oil is an amazing all around natural moisturizer and is recommended for dehydrated skin. Studies have shown that the antioxidant properties have been shown to protect against skin cancer. This oil moisturizers and fights bacteria and is found in many skincare products including Soul Natural’s Clarity Hydration cream. Moisturizers that contain olive oil are known to be great for preventing acne by decreasing the bacteria that causes it.
Rose Hip Oil
Rose hip oil comes from a South American rosebush and is extracted from the seeds. This oil is best for restoring uneven pigment, scars, fine lines, and acne prone skin. It contains essential fatty acids omega-6 and vitamins A and C. Rose hip oil increases the production of collagen and elastin in the skin and also contains high concentrations of linoleic acid that can help acneic skin. This oil is awesome; it helps your skin make ceramides which is a type of lipid that helps the skin hold onto water allowing it to prevent dehydration of the skin. Safflower oil contains linoleic acid an omega-6 acid that is packed with essential vitamins. Safflower oil prevents dryness, roughness, and removes dirt from the skin. Using this oil will give your skin a healthy glow, promote elasticity, and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Enjoy the benefits of this oil in our Clarity Hydration cream, paired with olive oil. It not oil makes your skin look beautiful it protects and restores it, renewing its youthful energy.
This is by far on of my favourite items for skincare, oils. I used to stay far far away from these oils thinking it would make my acne worse. After doing research and learning about all the amazing properties I have thrown out literally all my skincare products making room for these wonderful natural oils. You can use them on their own or in a skincare recipe; however you choose you will be thanking mama EARTH for her wonderful gifts.
