This has been one of my favourite go to snacks. It is fast and simple to make and it’s the perfect vegan chocolate fix. I love packing these when im on the go to snack on in between meals, they are filling (if you eat as much as I do) and they taste delicious!
This recipe has evolved and changed over time while I played with different things to add and felt out which measurements and ingredients I like best. Don’t forget you have complete creative freedom with this and you can change it up however you like!
- ½ Cup Oats
- ¼ Cup Almonds
- 4-5 Dates
- 1 tsp Almond Butter
- 1 tsp Cacao Powder
- 2-3 tsp Cinnamon (I Love it)
- 1 tsp Vegan Chocolate Chips
- 1 tbsp Hemp Seeds
- Shredded Coconut
*the shredded coconut is for you to roll these chocolate balls in but you can add them into the mix too if you like!*
I like to soak the dates first to make them a bit more soft when throwing it into the food processor and I do this first so they have some time to soak by the time im finished throwing in all of the other ingredients. You don’t HAVE to soak your dates.
Throw in all the ingredients into the food processor
Turn on for about 1-3 minutes
Place shredded coconut on a plate
Start rolling the mix into balls and rolling it in the shredded coconut until coated
Place in the fridge
I have always left them in the fridge for 5+ hours but they should be good to eat after about an hour. (place in the freezer if you are short on time)
